Tony Powers Named Finalist in PLANADVISER Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year Award
KerberRose Retirement Plan Services is proud to announce Tony Powers, AIF®/CFP®/CRPS®, Shareholder and President of KerberRose Wealth Management, has been named a finalist for the 2023 PLANADVISER Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year Award in the Closing the Gap service category.
For the 2023 awards, PLANADVISER Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year awards are based on a mixture of qualitative and quantitative measures, including tenure in the business, focus on retirement plan business as a percentage of the practice revenue, willingness to serve in a fiduciary role to client plans, and a review of essay answers. PLANADVISER uses these criteria for each of the six categories: Plan Sponsor Service; Plan Participant Service; Mentorship; Efforts to Improve Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI); Community Impact and Giving Back; and Closing the Coverage Gap.
Nominations were collected online from December 2022 through January 2023 and there were a total of 71 nominations of which 30 finalists were named. The PLANADVISER Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year awards do not indicate the investment adviser’s future performance, and no adviser pays or is paid a fee, to partake in the program.
According to PLANADVISER, finalists and winners in the Closing the Gap category “stand out for their dedication to helping more Americans, especially those who work for small businesses or who are members of underrepresented communities, save for retirement in the workplace.”
“I am honored to be named as a finalist for this award. My team and I take great pride in encouraging retirement savings among as many people as possible, regardless of their employment situation or industry,” commented Powers, when asked about his nomination. “I feel a responsibility to educate about the benefits of retirement savings, the importance of planning for retirement, and financial wellness. As plan advisers, it’s our job to ensure more workers have access to a comfortable retirement, which everyone deserves.”
Powers is one of five advisers up for this award, which will be announced in May at the PLANADVISER Industry Leaders Awards dinner in New York City. The complete list of finalists can be found here.
